A Jecklin Disc is a device for stereo recording that helps increase separation between the mics. Some companies make versions of the original, but they’re crazy expensive. So I decided to make my own.
I glued together three 12″ LPs I had and didn’t want (Beach Boys, Belly, and Burt Bacharach – a total coincidence, I don’t alphabetize my LPs), took apart a mic clip for its stand mount, and got two mic clip size flange mounts. Drilled the holes, screwed it together, and glued on some faux (mink, I think) fur that I got from an art supply store.
Works nice.
