Dog LeashWe were out the door to go to the beach, the kid wanted to collect some rocks and shells. The dog was coming along, and as we were out the door I remembered that the last time we were there, we had him tethered to a picnic table while we ate, as there was too many dogs around for him to control the urge to go try and play with them, and he chewed himself free. So I needed to make a new leash.

I used some clothesline, a spring-hook clip, and a piece of copper water pipe that I found in the basement.

I cut a piece of the rope at 16′, attached the clip and folded the rope in half. Then I cut another piece of rope at 8′ and tied one end to the clip. Then I braided them. I wrapped some thin string around the knot near the clip and slipped the pipe on, which fit really tight. I slipped the other pipe on, tied the other end to the rope to make a handle and wrapped the same string there, then slipped the pipe in place.

Worked perfectly.
