When I moved to this house, there was already a work-area in the basement. But the storage above the bench was terrible. Not well-made, very rickety, too deep, and pretty ugly. I ripped all of that out and made this unit. A few pieces of spruce 2×6’s and some pine 1×3’s. And a pegboard that I found here and spray painted. It’s 8′ across and 8″ deep. Making the four dadoes with a normal-kerf blade on my tablesaw took some time, but it’s plenty sturdy. Especially with the 1×3’s there. Finished with Minwax Red Oak stain and three coats of Poly. Somehow managed to get it up there and secured to the ceiling joists by myself.
